Katherine O'Donnell and Deb Waters from BELS&TL receive funds for the charity from Northern Gas Networks' care officers Ian Burns and Jade Dunn, and Chris Barkas, business development manager for the O'Brien Group.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) has teamed up with the O’Brien Group to donate £1,000 to the Baby Equipment Loan Service and Toy Library in Howdon.

The funding was provided to thank the community for its support while a £680,000 project was carried out to dismantle gas holder tanks in the area.

The charity, based in Denbigh Avenue, offers loans of equipment such as pushchairs, cots, highchairs and baby monitors to families on benefits, while the toy library is open to all North Tyneside children under the age of 15.

NGN project manager Mark Johnson said: “We appreciate the patience and understanding shown to us and would like to give something back to the community through this donation.”
