Photographers are being invited to get snappy over a village’s spirit while helping raise money for a project.
Friends of Tynemouth Outdoor Pool, who are keen to redevelop the lido on the coast, are holding a competition to capture ‘The Spirit of Tynemouth’.
And the winning images will be put together for a 2016 calendar.
Images will also be reproduced in a special set of cards that will be used to celebrate and support the redevelopment of Tynemouth Outdoor Pool project.
Entires should be of people or places in the Tynemouth region.
A panel of judges, including internationally renowned photographer Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen, will be looking for the most interesting and original images that capture the spirit of Tynemouth.
Winners will receive full credit on both the calendar and cards, which will be sold via the online shop and tourist information offices as part of the pool’s ongoing fundraising programme.
The images will also be featured on the Friends of Tynemouth Pool website and on other publicity and marketing materials.
A group spokesperson said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local photographers to showcase their work.”
The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2015.
Winners will be announced at the end of May.
