A special guest gave it the max to highlight new buses operating in the borough.

Titan the robot helped Arriva launch the premium quality Services X7, X8 and X9 which operate between Blyth, Cramlington and Newcastle.

The 14 state-of-the-art buses feature free on board WIFI and the latest journey planning technology.

Titan was among the guests at Quorum Business Park, in Longbenton – one of the stops for the service.

Nick Knox, area managing director for Arriva North East said: “Our new MAX buses are smart and comfortable with high back E-leather seats.

“The free WIFI is great for those commuting into work or college each day, those going shopping or merely travelling for leisure.”

“Passengers can also use the Arriva journey planning app to track exactly where their bus is.

“Combined with the existing X10 & X11 routes, MAX services will operate up to 10 times per hour from Cramlington providing quick links into the heart of Newcastle city centre.

“MAX services will operate up to 12 times per hour between Blyth and Newcastle.”
