Whitley Bay Golf Club's ladies captain Judith Hewison presents a cheque to Matt Clarke of Alzheimers Research UK.

The ladies at Whitley Bay Golf Club have been raising funds throughout the year, including paying £1 for every time they went into a bunker.

A cheque for £1,200 was presented by Judith Hewison, Ladies Captain 2016, to Matt Clarke, of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Judith, who chose the charity for her year as captain, said: “This disease devastates the lives of many and their families. The research carried out by Alzheimer’s Research UK will help us to learn more and eventually conquer this condition.”

Matt thanked themfor their generous donation.

The ladies raise money every year for the Captain’s chosen charity – the Great North Air Ambulance in 2017.
