Group makes a difference

There are countless organisations and individuals throughout North Tyneside that make a difference to the lives of people in the borough on a daily basis.

As part of Local Newspaper Week, we have selected one of those organisations to feature in our ‘Make a Difference’ initiative, to highlight the work being done in the borough.

North Tyneside Disability Forum, based in the Shiremoor centre, work with physically disabled, vulnerable people, deaf and blind people, learning disabled people, carers, families, advocates and disabled and deaf peoples groups and organisations.

Chief executive Sue Adams said: “We make a difference because we work with and for disabled people to empower and improve lives.

“We have been working with the community for 26 years, and we provide projects and events for everyone, seven days a week.”
