Hanky panky is the secret to a top roast dinner

THE secret, it would appear, to a good Sunday dinner, is a big slice of hanky panky.

At least at the Park Hotel in Tynemouth it is.

The newly refurbished hotel on the seafront offers incredible views across the sea while you tuck into your roast dinner.

Offering a three-meat carvery for just £7.95 a head, and more vegetables than you can shake a stick, at you can’t go wrong.

Not being much of a meat eater but still a lover of roast dinners, I opted for the chicken which was moist and delicious, while my other half went for the beef and gammon, which proved a particular hit.

Unlike other carveries you could help yourself to as many yorkshire puddings as you could fit on your plate, which is always a bonus in my book.

The only downside was a lack of stuffing, which I would have loved in addition to my enormous pile of food.

But at the Park Hotel, they saved the best for last, because it was really the desserts that stole the show.

I was reliably told the Hanky Panky Ice Cream Cake was the dish that I should go for, so I was very pleased that it was chocolatey, ice creamy, and absolutely enormous.

Now this is one pudding I can find no fault with.

The Park Hotel offers wonderful views across Tynemouth and the sea, a great value-for-money carvery, and incredible puddings to top it all off.
