A new app is being developed to look at archive newspapers.

Residents are being invited to join experts from Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums to look at newspapers from the early 1900s.

They will then pick out what they think are the most interesting stories, which will be included in a new app that is being developed with American artist Halsey Burgund.

Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums is also looking for people lend their voices to feature in the app by reading out their favourite newspaper stories.

Workshops will take place at Newcastle City Library on Friday, May 15, from 2pm to 5pm; Tuesday, May 26, from 9.30am to noon; Thursday, May 28, from 2pm to 4.30pm; and Friday, May 29; from 2pm to 5pm.
