Health trust holding events for Apprenticeship Week
Four events are being held for anyone interested in an apprenticeship at a health trust.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is marking National Apprenticeship Week 2017 – March 6 to 10 – by celebrating the contribution of its apprentices and raising awareness of opportunities available.
The trust, which has taken on almost 1,800 apprentices in the last 13 years, is holding four events at its sites for people to find out more about its apprenticeship schemes.
The drop-in events for National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) take place in the restaurants from noon to 2pm at:
• Northumbria House, Cobalt Business Park, on Monday, March 6;
• North Tyneside General Hospital on Tuesday, March 7;
• The Northumbria hospital on Wednesday, March 8;
• Wansbeck General Hospital on Thursday, March 9.
The trust is also holding a celebration event on Friday 10 March for all its current apprentices.
Ann Stringer, executive director of human resources and organisational development at Northumbria Healthcare, said: “National Apprenticeship Week is a great opportunity for us to celebrate the valuable contribution our apprentices make to our organisation.
“For more than a decade, apprenticeships have been a key part of our trust with more than 1,000 apprentices joining us over the years and helping us to develop as an organisation.
“As a trust, we’re passionate about growing our own workforce and opening up opportunities for young people and we’d encourage anyone who’s interested in finding out more to come along to our events.
“We’ve got so many success stories of apprentices who’ve gone on to promising careers with us and we’re committed to giving our apprentices as much support as possible to help them take their first steps into the world of work.”
The trust recruits apprentices throughout the year with the next posts due to be advertised on NHS Jobs – www.jobs.nhs.uk – in the summer.
