Organisers of a charity ball were motoring thanks to support from a dealership.

Percy Hedley Foundation’s annual Misteltoe Ball – held on November 29 – was supported this year by Hodgson car dealership.

The company, run by Steve Hodgson and his wife Lindsay, donated a Toyota Aygo car worth nearly £11,000 as the top prize in the auction.

The charity, which has sites in Forest Hall and Killingworth, supports children and adults with complex disabilities.

Steve said: “The Percy Hedley Foundation provides a fantastic range of services.

“Not only do they have the services to support, but also over 800 staff whom they employ. It’s a huge, and a much needed resource in our region.

“Every pound raised goes back into the charity. We didn’t hesitate in making this donation of a car for the auction and are privileged to be able to contribute.”

Maria Hallett, fundraiser for the Foundation, said: “The Mistletoe Ball is the pinnacle of our fundraising year and is always a wonderful success, but only because we receive such fantastic support from local companies and businesses that donate prizes and buy tables.”
