Helping create new businesses

A SERIES of events are being lined up to help residents take their first steps in setting up in business.

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week – November 14 to 20 – The Business Factory is hosting events. And the council’s start-up support agency will host workshops, provide support and advice, interview-style session, culminating with an one-to-one advice day.

Events include:

n An evening with two local start-ups discussing how they set up on their own – Wednesday, November 16, from 5pm to 7pm at Quadrant, Cobalt Business Park.

n Party Plan Workshops with business adviser Dianne Morris on setting up as a party plan consultant – Thursday, November 17, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at The Riverside Centre, North Shields;

n Starting Your Own Business Advice Day – Friday, November 18, 10am to 4pm, The Village Hotel.
