Nurses interested in a career at a new hospital are being invited to view the state-of-the-art facilities and meet the teams.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit nurses in a range of specialities to work at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital and is holding an open event on Saturday, November 21, from 9am to 1pm.
The Northumbria hospital at Cramlington treats all serious emergencies from across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
It is the first purpose-built hospital of its kind in the country to have emergency medicine consultants on site 24/7 and specialist consultants in a broad range of conditions also work seven days a week.
At the event, nurses will have the opportunity to meet the teams and find out about the opportunities, visit the hospital and be interviewed. Tours of the site will be held on the hour, with the last one taking place at noon.
The trust is looking to recruit nurses to work in stroke, acute elderly medicine, respiratory medicine, cardiology, gastrointestinal medicine/surgery, critical care, ambulatory care and surgery.
Elaine Henderson, chief matron for medicine at Northumbria Healthcare, said: “Saturday’s event is an ideal opportunity for nurses to see first-hand the superb facilities we have at our new Northumbria hospital and meet the teams to find out about the roles we have on offer and working in our new model of emergency care.
“Nurses play a vital role in delivering compassionate front-line care for our patients and we are extremely keen to welcome new faces to our hard-working teams and would encourage nurses to come along to learn more.”
Nurses are being advised to apply for the roles in advance of the event however if they would like to come along and discuss opportunities they would be welcomed. For information about the roles and to apply, visit www.jobs.nhs.uk
