Hundreds of pupils to sing in charity concert

Hundreds of schooluchildren from the region will join talented pupils from a borough musical theatre school in a charity concert next month.

A total of 450 pupils will perform a musical concert, sponsored by Whitley Bay-based umbrella charity Angels of the North, at Sage Gateshead on Monday, November 23, to raise funds for different local charities.

The Angels of the North concert will be performed by children from throughout Tyneside, south east Northumberland and the Bommel Musical Theatre School from West Monkseaton.

The charity’s honorary chief executive officer, Barbara Connors-Fowler, said: “Angels of the North is delighted to have had the opportunity to sponsor several large local art events in the last year.

“Angels of the North’s sponsorship this year will enable local children to participate in international events in India, France and the USA.”
