The exhaustingly repetitive comments about the future of Whitley Bay’s Central Lower Promenade is something which I find very frustrating.
I suspect that I am not alone in this opinion.
North Tyneside Council’s attempt to improve the appearance and safety of this section of the seafront is something which, as a Whitey Bay resident, I wholeheartedly support.
The voices raised in opposition to all redevelopment work undertaken or planned in this regard are irrational and wholly negative.
It is an irrefutable fact that restoration of the derelict units on the Central Lower Promenade is a practical impossibility and funding for the improvements planned by the council is available.
The choice therefore between undertaking those improvements and doing nothing, whilst Whitley Bay promenade eventually subsides into the North Sea, is an obvious one
