Emergency services are currently attending an incident on the Metro in North Tyneside.

At 10.11am this morning, Wednesday, October 7, police received a report a incident on the metro lines between Palmersville and Northumberland Park.

It is thought a pedestrian has been hit by a Metro train, although reports are yet to be confirmed.

The metro service between Palmersville and Northumberland Park is currently suspended. Services on all other parts of the network is in use but passengers may experience delays.

People who have already purchased Metro tickets at the affected stations are advised tickets are valid for use on buses.
