Jordan's cream of the crop
There was a n-ice surprise for schoolchildren as their delicious dessert design was turned into a real tasty treat.
Year 2 pupils at Whitley Lodge First School have been learning all about the seaside in the build up to the holidays, and as part of their project they were invited to come up with a new flavour of ice cream.
Staff at Coastline Fish and Chip shop in Blyth, which also owns the neighbouring Cicarrelli’s ice cream parlour, agreed to judge the entries.
And Jordan Thompson was named the winner for his candy floss topped with popping candy sprinkles idea.
Much to the delight and surprise of the youngsters, Cicarrelli’s made a huge batch of the ice cream and took it in to test on the last day of term.
Teacher Sharon Train said: “We are so grateful to Coastline for this fabulous opportunity.”
