Work to redesign healthcare services for older people has been recognised at an awards.
NHS North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Patient Forum was ‘highly commended’ at the Age Takes Centre Stage Award.
The Forum, a group of 46 volunteers, helps provide the local health service with a valuable insight into healthcare services from the patient’s perspective, driving change and improvement.
Judges heard how the Forum has helped the CCG develop its New Models of Care, which is a new and improved way to care for frail and vulnerable patients.
Forum member, Susan Dawson, said: “As a group, we are passionate about healthcare provision and we have a wealth of experience that helps us ensure that services are designed to meet the needs of the residents of North Tyneside.”
“I am delighted that the hard work of the Patient Forum members has been recognised.”
Dr John Matthews, clinical chair of NHS North Tyneside CCG, said: “The Patient Forum is a great asset for the CCG and everyone in North Tyneside.”
