Knitwear will help the borough’s youngsters

A Whitley Bay-basedcharity has given 1,000 items of knitwear to a North Shields charity.

Angels of the North presented the items to Meadow Well Connected, to continue their support for the charity which aims to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

Honorary chief executive of Angels of the North, Barbara Connors-Fowler, said: “Bouth of our charities hahave a common ethos.

“For several years Meadow Well Connected has been receiving support from our charity, including donations of cash, clothing, yoys and foodstuffs.”

The knitwear donated was hand-knitted by volunteers at Age UK in Whitley Bay.

Pamela Smith from the charity said: “We are extremely grateful to Angels of the North for their continued support of our charity.”
