This year’s Whitley Bay Film Festival comes to a close after this weekend with a number of unique events taking place.
The festival will close for it’s fourth year with a week of sell out screenings, free and original Arthouses community art event, and a movie cruise to Amsterdam.
The two day Arthouses community art event on Sunday, September 1, and Monday, September 2, will see Victoria Avenue in the heart of the town transformed into Whitley Bay’s very own arts quarter .
Residential houses will open their doors for a unique way of getting art out of the gallery and literally onto the street.
The event is being co-ordinated by Newcastle University arts lecturer Tracey Tofield with assistance from local artist Bernie Hobby.
The organisers have liaised with more than 50 local artists to bring a huge amount of new work to the area.
