A North Tyneside youngster is feeling top of the class after winning a competition to design a hotel.
Lucy Bushell, a pupil at Marden Bridge Middle School in Whitley Bay, beat hundreds of entrants to win a Butlins hotel of the future competition.
The 11-year-old’s hotel design included trampolines, chocolate fountains, ball pools and trapdoors.
The competition was launched to celebrate the opening of Butlins’ new Wave Hotel and Apartments at Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
Lucy won a family break at the hotel.
Paul Charlton, head of design at Marden Bridge Middle School, said: “We are always looking at news ways of engaging and inspiring our pupils, and the Butlins hotel of the future competition really captured their imaginations.
“We are absolutely thrilled that Lucy was picked from so many amazing entries, and I’m sure she will have a fantastic time staying at the new hotel in Bognor Regis.”
