DIY store customers can pit their footballing skills against Newcastle United legend Steve Watson tomorrow.
The North Shields-born star will be at the town's B&Q on Middle Engine Lane between 10am and noon, giving people a chance to play him at table football, as well as chatting about predictions for Euro 2016 and Newcastle United’s relegation from the Premier League.
There will also be chances to win gift cards to spend at B&Q North Shields and a face painter will be on hand to decorate fans in team colours.
B&Q North Shields manager Eddie Smith said: “We can’t wait to welcome Steve to B&Q North Shields. We’re all football mad here, so we’re really excited to meet such a local legend – and some of us may even be able to say that we beat him at a game of football, even if it’s not strictly on the pitch!”
The store is celebrating the player’s appearance with football themed give-aways and signed goodies throughout the event.
Steve started his professional football career playing for Newcastle United in 1990.
