Man arrested after damage to cars

Police have arrested a man in connection with a number of car damages in High Heaton.

At 2.45am today, police officers came across a man in Horsley Road who was acting suspiciously.

Officers arrested him on suspicion of causing damage to vehicles and he currently remains in police custody.

Inquiries are ongoing and police have received around 15 reports of damage to vehicles in Horsley Road and Langton Terrace.

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone who was in the areas of Horsley Road or Langton Terrace at around 2.45am today and who saw anything or anyone suspicious is asked to contact police with information on 101 ext 69191 quoting ref number 150 17/10/15.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team is carrying out extra patrols in the area and if anyone has any concerns they can speak to officers directly.
