A man was left with serious injuries after a hit and run collision in North Tyneside.
A 24-year-old man was found lying on the side of the road on Ashleigh Grove, in Benton, at around 5.35am on Wednesday, June 29.
He is believed to have been involved in a collision and suffered serious, but non-life threatening, injuries during the incident.
Police have been carrying out enquiries into the incident and believe the vehicle involved was a taxi, although the make, model and company were not known.
Officers believe the same taxi was involved in a similar incident on Goathland Avenue in Longbenton earlier that morning.
Police would like to appeal for any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have information that could help the investigation, to get in touch on 101 quoting reference.
