Man stabbed during assault by three men

A man needed hospital treatment after being stabbed during an assault.

A 37-year-old man was walking along Denbigh Avenue, Wallsend, when he was approached by three men.

The trio then attacked him, leaving him with stab wounds to his chest. He attended North Tyneside General Hospital and transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary where he was released following treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at 4pm on Sunday.

Anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
