Marine equipment stolen after thieves break into boat

MARINE equipment has been stolen from a boat in North Shields.

Thieves broke into the boat, which was moored in Royal Quays Marina, between 5pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday.

After forcing open a cabin door they stole an amount of marine equipment.

The items taken included a marine radar, a scientific barometer, a clock, a radio, scientific hydrometer and tools.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the marina overnight on Monday and into the early hours of Tuesday.
