Masked men make off with cars


TWO cars were stolen in North Shields on Tuesday by masked men.

The masked men struck at just before 9pm when they stole two cars from an address in the town after threatening the occupier.

One of the cars, a Porsche, was found around half an hour later in Octavia Court, Wallsend, and the other car, a silver Ford Fiesta, has not yet been traced.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw a Porsche being abandoned in Octavia Court sometime after 9pm.

North Shields Neighbourhood Inspector Geoff Cross said: “This was an unusual incident and I’d seek to reassure people that patrols are being stepped up in the area where this happened.”
