A management apprentice has reached a milestone for a well-known national retailer.
Matt Scotney, who works at the Argos Wallsend Silverlink store, is the business’ 1,500th apprentice to complete his training.
The customer fulfilment manager has completed both his level 2 and 3 apprenticeship programmes, as well as continuing his development with the Argos Retail Academy’s level 1 and 2 schemes.
The retailer has been involved with work-based training provider First4Skills to deliver courses for four years, but Matt was its first apprentice in such a role.
His store manager Stephen Brown said: “At the time of Matt joining the store we were trialling the new fast track delivery proposition.
“We were one of three stores to be doing this so that in itself brought additional pressure and expectation on the new role he had undertaken.
“Matt was the first ever customer fulfilment manager in Argos, a role he has embraced since day one.”
He added: “Matt’s taken a massive step into the world of management and over the last year he has experienced and been a part of one of the most exciting journeys the company has undertaken.
“His commitment to his personal development has been nothing short of amazing and he continues to grow into a great leader.”
