An update on the region’s newest hospital will be given at a meeting.
Healthwatch North Tyneside is hosting an open meeting about the new Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.
David Evans, chief executive of the trust, will respond to questions and concerns that have arisen from feedback to Healthwatch since the hospital opened last June.
The meeting will take place from noon to 1.30pm on Tuesday, February 2, at Whitley Bay Customer First Centre. To book a place contact Healthwatch on (0191) 263 5321 or email email@example.com
Peter Kenrick, chair of Healthwatch, said: “Since the new hospital opened we have listened to feedback from local people who have needed to use the service.
“They have told us about their experiences of transport, quality of care, the hospital environment and information about where to go to and what services are available.
“People also gave feedback on ambulance response times. Using this feedback we have put questions to Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and North East Ambulance Service.”
“This meeting gives people the opportunity to hear responses to their views directly from the NHS Trusts.”
Healthwatch North Tyneside has published its letters to the NHS Trusts outlining issues raised about the new hospitals and the Trust’s responses on the Healthwatch website www.healthwatchnorthtyneside.co.uk/nsech
Healthwatch North Tyneside helps make sure the views of local people are heard and health and social care services change and improve.
