Shoppers were given a chance to find out how they can create their own winter wonderland for wildlife.
Silverlink Shopping Park, in North Shields, held a My Wild Winter event for all the family, in partnership with The Northumberland Wildlife Trust, last Saturday.
Shoppers had the chance to learn about looking after garden wildlife during the winter months and experience a live interactive ice sculpting demonstration.
Representatives from The Northumberland Wildlife Trust talked to shoppers, providing information on the fun and interesting ways to help local wildlife over winter.
Kevin O’Hara, conservation officer at Northumberland Wildlife Trust, said: “Wildlife needs a helping hand in the winter and gardens are a vital source of shelter and food for wildlife, especially in autumn/winter when many species need warm, dry spaces to bed down in.”
Jo Francis, head of retail property management for the Regional Portfolio, said: “The Crown Estate is always keen to promote the importance of biodiversity and enhancing the natural environment across our retail destinations.”
