Leisure operator Danieli Holdings is bringing its yolo concept to Newcastle city centre within an impressive vacant property on High Bridge.

Following a successful 18 months with its first venture in Ponteland, which counts Ant and Dec amongst its fans, the name behind Hadrian’s Tipi winter pop-up has announced that the brand will take the form of ‘yolo Townhouse’, a three storey bar and restaurant located in the former Capology retail unit.

Creating almost 100 full and part time local jobs, there will be a ground floor drinking and dining social space, first floor function area and second floor open-air terrace bar – as well as a third and final floor utilised for catering.

It is expected to open this spring.

The significant investment will see the building fully refurbished from the inside out with award-winning Simon McIlwraith, of Collective Design, acting as the lead designer.

Extended opening hours mean yolo Townhouse will serve up everything from breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner through to late night drinks.

Based on the European menu which is currently available at yolo Ponteland, dishes will be home-made, using fresh ingredients to pair with a wine and cocktail selection to suit all tastes.

Nigel Holliday, Danieli Holdings business development director, said: “The brand new yolo Townhouse will be a unique venue here in Newcastle, building on the concept we’ve established out of town and creating an experience for a wide North East demographic.

“We’re looking forward to meeting and bringing on board new faces to be a part of our highly-anticipated launch.”
