New apartments for the over 60s are going on show.

Viewings are now being arranged for the retirement accommodation at three projects, which are available to rent from North Tyneside Council.

The £300m North Tyneside Living project has created more than 920 modern, independent living homes at 26 sites across the borough.

As well as offering private, modern, comfortable apartments, all schemes have bright, shared lounges and offer activities ranging from coffee mornings to evening entertainment, hobbies, reading, or just relaxation.

Each development also has its own therapy room for use by health and personal care professionals, as well as landscaped and shared gardens. There is guest accommodation at each location too, where friends and family can stay.

At the open days, North Tyneside Living staff will be on hand to guide prospective tenants and their families around the accommodation on offer and answer any questions.

The open days will take place from 11am to 7pm on Thursday, June 28, and 10am to 2pm on Saturday, June 30, at Cheviot View, West Street, West Allotment.

They run from 11am to 7pm on Thursday, July 12, and 10am to 2pm on Saturday, July 14, at Eccles Grange, Church Road, Backworth.

And at Ferndene, Threap Gardens, Howdon, from 11am to 7pm on Thursday, July 26, and 10am to 2pm on Saturday, July 28.
