Work has been completed to transform a building into a range of high quality homes.
North Tyneside Council has transformed Moorcroft in Annitsford into 28 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments for tenants aged 60 and over.
The properties on the ground floor have semi-private patio areas and upper apartments have bay windows. There is a shared lounge and a smaller ‘quiet’ shared lounge for reading, hobbies or just relaxation.
There is also a therapy room/beauty salon, a guest apartment where family and friends can stay as well as a range of organised activities and outings.
Anyone interested in viewing the properties can attend open days on Thursday, March 10, from 2pm to 7pm, or on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
Mayor Norma Redfearn said: “These are lovely homes and I’m delighted at the transformation at Moorcroft and the success to date of the North Tyneside Living scheme.
“These apartments offer older people the freedom to live independently in a bright and contemporary home.
“Every detail has been carefully chosen to make life easier and this option of living has proved very popular amongst our residents.”
“I would urge anyone interested to visit one of our open day events and see these fantastic homes for themselves.”
