New name on Port of Tyne board

A NEW director has been appointed at Port of Tyne.

Maxine Pott has been appointed to the board as a non-executive director, and brings with her 20 years experience in accountancy and business management.

Port of Tyne chair Sir Ian Wrigglesworth said: “I am delighted to welcome Maxine to the board, as she is a highly respected accountant with a wealth of experience in finance and management who will bring further depth and insight to the independent Non-Executive Board in what are exciting and challenging times ahead for the Port of Tyne.”

The Board runs the award-winning Port at the heart of North East England for the benefit of the stakeholders of the Port and the River Tyne.

Chief executive officer at Port of Tyne, Andrew Moffat, pictured, said: “Maxine brings a wealth of national and international board experience as well as operational expertise and proven leadership in established companies. “I am looking forward to working with her as we progress our business growth plans for the Port.”

Ms Pott said: “The Port of Tyne is already an exciting business and I am looking forward to being part of the team steering it through the challenges ahead as it continues to grow and develop.”
