New year sees new hobbies for over 50s

A SERIES of art workshops and activities are being held for people aged over 50.

YMCA North Tyneside, in partnership with Age UK North Tyneside, will be starting the workshops at Cedar Grove Wellbeing Centre, Wallsend, on Monday, January 14, at 10.30am.

The course will initially run for six weeks with a cost of £2.50 per class.

Cedar Grove Men’s Group is also appealing for mew members.

The group has been awarded funding from the Wallsend Ward Community First Fund, managed by the Community Development Foundation, to help them to come up with activity ideas and places they would like to visit in the coming year.

Men aged 50 and over are welcome to attend their next meeting on Friday, January 11, at the centre, and every fortnight thereafter.
