Staff at a care home are celebrating after their manager was named a finalist in a national awards.
Nicola Bell, home manager at Earsdon Grange care home in Whitley Bay, is a finalist in the 2016 Maria Mallaband and Countrywide care home.
She has been nominated by staff, residents and family members for the home manager category.
Nicola, who joined the home in 2011, said: “I’m proud of our great team we have here.
“We always create a friendly homely environment for our residents and visitors, offering the highest quality of care and working closely with the community to build up good working relationships. I am overwhelmed by the support I have had and most of all for being nominated for this award.”
The awards were created to acknowledge the efforts of staff and the impact they have on the lives of residents and their families.
Staff members, residents, families and visitors were encouraged to nominate staff members across fourteen award categories, intended to represent all areas across the business.
The winners will be announced at a gala evening on Thursday, June 23, at The Queens Hotel in Leeds.
