A group of apprentices are celebrating after landing jobs at North Tyneside Council.
The nine have earned full-time contracts in the organisation and were invited to a special lunch to celebrate the occasion.
Since starting in September 2014, the young people have worked within their respective teams, ranging from adult social care to communications and marketing, while also working with external tutors to earn their qualifications.
Congratulating the young people, the council’s workforce programme adviser, Tina Adams, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that so many of our apprentices have been kept on within the organisation.
“They’re a fantastic group who have worked extremely hard to get to this point and I’m sure this is only the beginning of their success.”
The council will continue to support apprenticeships, with 19 appointed in 2015 and a further 14 to be recruited throughout 2016.
