Nominations are being sought for individuals or groups who have helped support Whitley Bay.
The Whitley Bay Town Cup is presented every year to an individual or organisation in the town who has played a part in hosting an outstanding event, or provided outstanding service for their community.
Councillors of the seaside town will consider the nominations in December, with North Tyneside Council chairman, Coun Gary Bell, presenting the award in January.
Coun Bell said “This award is an excellent way for us to recognise and appreciate the work that local residents do to help better the area.
“Everyone deserves a lot of credit for the effort they put in and I’m looking forward to seeing the candidates for this year.”
Last year’s cup was presented to Reverend Alan Dickinson, of The BAY Foodbank.
Nomination forms are available by visiting www.northtyneside.gov.uk and searching for ‘Town Cup’, by calling (0191) 643 5614 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
The closing date for nominations is November 27. Only individuals or groups from the former borough of Whitley Bay can be considered.
