North Tyneside chambers of trade come together for business talk
Businesses in North Tyneside can find out how they can receive vital funding and support to help boost turnover.
The North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is teaming up with three chambers of trade to put on an introduction to funding and support evening at The Exchange, North Shields, from 5.30pm, on Wednesday, May 16.
It is the first time the chambers of North Shields, Whitley Bay and Wallsend have worked together on an event.
Miles Walton, chairman of North Shields Chamber of Trade and Commerce, said: “This is a chance for businesses to hear directly from the LEP about what it does, what support it can give and what sources of funding may be available to them in the borough.
“It will also be an ideal chance for companies who might normally not come into contact with each other to network and possibly generate new business.
“It should be a fantastic event that any business in the borough will benefit from attending. We hope to see as many local enterprises as possible coming along and learning more about how they can find funding, support and generate growth, and also about the role their local chamber plays in their area.”
Julie Summers, chairman of Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade and owner of Olives at the Station in the town, said: “This will be the first time that these three chambers have come together so it is quite a momentous occasion.
“As well as being a fantastic chance to hear about opportunities from the LEP, businesses from Whitley Bay, North Shields and Wallsend will have a chance to meet businesses from other local towns, which can only benefit North Tyneside as a whole.
“I hope this can be the start of more collaboration between the different chambers and hopefully we can all work together on some bigger projects in future.”
After the LEP talk, attendees will be able to network and meet with members of the LEP in The Exchange’s café bar.
