War veterans in North Tyneside are encouraged to apply for a special lapel badge to mark Armed Forces Day.
Veterans are invited to attend a presentation at North Tyneside Council on Monday, June 25, at 10am.
During the event, the chairman of North Tyneside Council will present the lapel badges, followed by light refreshments and the raising of the flag.
Anyone who has served in the armed forces, including the volunteer and regular reserves, is entitled to apply for the badge.
Veterans must live in North Tyneside and those who have previously been presented with a lapel badge cannot apply again.
Those eligible should contact North Tyneside Council, which will send applications to the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency, and if successful, they will be invited to the presentation ceremony.
The ceremony is organised by North Tyneside Council, with the support of North Tyneside War Veterans Committee, and is part of a programme of events that have been arranged for national Armed Forces Day.
The deadline for applications is Friday, May 25.
