HEALTH bosses are celebrating after being named one of the top trusts in the country for the fifth consecutive year.
CHKS, the UK’s leading independent provider of healthcare intelligence and quality improvement services, has named Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as one of the 40 best performing organisations.
The 40 Top Hospitals awards measures patient experience and quality of care alongside clinical effectiveness, health outcomes and efficiency.
Ann Farrar, chief operating officer at the Trust, said: “To be recognised for the fifth consecutive year as one of the country’s top performing trusts is brilliant news for our patients and staff.
“Once again, it is tribute to the hard work and commitment of our staff.
“These national awards celebrate excellence in the areas which really matter to patients.
“It is an important marker of high quality care, gives the public confidence in the services we provide and is a useful guide for those patients choosing where to receive care.”
The Trust was also shortlisted for the data quality award.
Jason Harries, managing director of CHKS, said: “Our awards programme provides reassurance to hospital boards, staff and patients that their trust is amongst the highest performers when it comes to data quality, safety and quality of care.
“I’m delighted that so many first-class organisations have won our awards this year.”
