On track to boost mental health

Staff in Nexus travel shops are doing their bit to raise money for mental health charity Tyneside and Northumberland Mind by selling a new range of branded Pop card-holders.

The colourful pass-holders are on sale at Nexus travel shops, with all donations going to the charity.

The scheme was thought up by staff at Haymarket Metro Station travel shop in Newcastle. The workers originally planned to use their own money to get the pass-holders made, but the Nexus management team stepped in to support their initiative.

Each pass-holder will also include an advice leaflet outlining the benefits that using public transport can bring to health and mental wellbeing.

Huw Lewis, customer services director at Nexus, said: “Each year our employees chose a charity to support and for 2018 we’re delighted to be fundraising for the mental health charity, Tyneside and Northumberland Mind.”
