Parents should use common sense and use car park

As a parent of children at Marine Park First School in Whitley Bay, I was thrilled to see the new car park on the old library site up and running so quickly after the library was demolished.

This has been a brilliant solution to the car parking congestion around school drop-off and pick-up times.

Many of the parents at our school ensure that our children arrive at school safely by using the correct facilities in place for parking, however, I am baffled to see the same culprits still using the paved area outside St Edward’s Church to park their cars.

Not only that, but the bus stop directly opposite the school gates is still being used as a drop-off point.

Come on parents, use some common sense.

In the unfortunate event that your child was involved in an accident on the way to school, you would be the first to complain.

I am sure I’m not the only parent that finds this frustrating, not to mention the school itself.

Please think of your children and their friends when you arrive at school each day and let Marine Park First School continue to be the safe environment your children deserve.
