Police in North Tyneside are putting the wheels in motion to improve the area’s cycle routes.
Officers from the Wallsend neighbourhood policing team are working together with North Tyneside Council and cycling organisation Sustrans to carry out walkabouts on the national cycle route in Wallsend.
The joint-agency approach is looking to work together to improve the conditions of the cycle route and reduce anti-social behaviour.
Pc Tom Spencer said: “By working together as one we can all bring together areas of expertise to improve the area for cyclists.
“Our partners at Sustrans give us the information and feedback from the cycling community about what is important to them.
“The council is then able to look at the route and see if there is a need for any improvements.”
