Editor Heather Alabaster said: "Everyone loves local information – whether it’s online or in this handy little book.

"It’s invaluable for getting out and about - keeping in touch or finding help when it’s needed.

"People often tell us it’s reassuring to have the Golden Guide within reach at home."

Denise Bedford, of Infrastructure North, said: "We think the Golden Guide does a great job.

"It’s a very effective way to reach older people who may not be online, and it significantly helps spread the word about the support available for their health and wellbeing."
