Rebecca Gormley and her grandfather Les Crichton.

Rebecca Gormley, 21, who won Miss Newcastle in 2018, entered the island in dramatic fashion on Monday night.

Viewers saw the part time model and carer, who came sixth in Miss England in 2019, set pulses racing as part of a dancing challenge for the boys.

And she has spiced things up at the South African villa, going on dates with Callum and Connor after setting their pulses racing the most.

Before entering the villa, Rebecca said: “I’m fun, I’m loud, I’m outgoing, I’m fearless and spontaneous!

“I like a ‘Jack the lad’. He’s got to be the centre of attention, easy to get along with, and someone who gets involved with the chat.”

And after admitting that Callum, Connagh and Mike had caught her eye before going in, speaking of the boys she said: “I need to chat to them.

“I haven’t seen enough of them to know how I’m going to approach it.

“I like funny guys, so I’m thinking making the guy laugh is a tick in the box.

“But no smooth moves, I’ll just be myself.”

Last year, Rebecca became a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Society, paying tribute to her grandfather Les Crichton who is living with dementia.

At the time Rebecca said: “I’m delighted to have become a volunteer as dementia is a condition I have personal experience of.

“My grandad Les began his journey with dementia three-and-a-half years ago.”

Love Island is on ITV2 at 9pm every night.
