Plans have been unveiled to bring a £1.5m trampoline park to North Shields.

Oxygen Freejumping has earmarked a site as part of a partnership with five-a-side football operator Lucozade Powerleague to launch five new sites around the country.

They plan to transport the 33,000 sq ft site at North Shields into the ultimate trampoline park playground, with work starting soon, and creating 60 new jobs in the process.

The venue will provide fun for all ages with more than 150 interconnected trampolines, dodgeball courts, airbags, club-level trampolines, and Ninja Warrior Courses.

Visitors will also be able to learn Freerunning in Oxygen Freejumping’s bespoke Freerunning courses designed by the founder of Freerunning and Parkour pioneer Sebastien Foucan.

They will host birthday parties, training for gymnastics competitions, learning parkour, trying a new fitness regime. There will also be sessions for Toddlers, dodgeball games, and an Obstacle Course.

David Stalker, CEO of Oxygen Freejumping, said: “We are delighted to be coming to North Shields, and we’re looking forward to helping locals discover the fun of Freejumping.

“Freejumping is easy to do but impossible to master and fun no matter how old you or whether it’s your first jump or you are a high flyer.

“We have the highest standards of quality and service, and guarantee that everyone leaves with a smile on their face.

“Our designs are done, plans are in place, and building starts soon.”

Once launched the park will be open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 9pm on Sundays.
