The cadets are supporting Northern Area Command's burglary operation by visiting more than 300 homes in Wallsend to deliver leaflets and give residents crime-prevention advice on their doorstep.

This work runs alongside the police operation with extra patrols by officers in key areas targeting burglars to deter criminals.

"We've had some great feedback from residents who are happy to speak with the cadets and are pleased to receive advice they can put to good use."
