Hard-pressed posties have been given a morale boost by North Tyneside MP Mary Glindon.
The politican called into Royal Mail’s North Tyneside Delivery Office to meet workers during their busiest time of the year and offer words of encouragement for the pre-Christmas rush.
Mrs Glindon said: “There is a huge amount of effort and dedication that goes into delivering a first class Christmas at Royal Mail’s busiest time of the year.
“Our postal workers do such an important job at this time of year and I would like to thank them for their efforts and wish them all the best over the busy festive period.”
The last recommended posting dates for Christmas are December 19 for second class, December 21 for first class, and December 23 for special delivery. People are advised to post early, always use the postcode and wrap parcels well, giving a return address.
