Cullercoats Village Family History Centre and the Park View Project are working on a project called What happened to WWI survivors on their return?

Cullercoats Village Family History Centre is a community group providing access for local people of Cullercoats to share and research history of the area, relying on funds raised by the local community.

Officials are encouraging people of all abilities to take part with peer-support available from volunteer information buddies.

A spokesperson said: “Both local groups are keen to link where history of the local area is relevant. This affords a mutual benefit via the sharing of skills and resources; this in turn, creates a partnership and collaborative approach that contributes to a diverse and vibrant local community.”
