Provide patrols to control the beach

Can you please put a notice in your paper regarding the owners of the numerous dogs that seem to think that it is OK for their animals to poo all over the beach and not pick it up.

For some reason, the council has allowed dogs on the whole of Tynemouth beach during the winter months, instead of just using the designated area, which would be much more people friendly.

It is completely and utterly out of control.

During the winter months the beach is completely overrun with dogs.

I spend all of my walking time looking down instead of enjoying the gorgeous views and have had numerous dogs jump up on me or I have dodged tripping over them.

I took my grandchildren the other day and my four-year-old granddaughter, who was playing in the sand with her bucket and spade, fell in the sand and was literally covered in dog faeces. My six-year-old grandson had it all over his shoes from a trail of it along the path to home.

My daughter was in tears because of the ignorance and thoughtlessness of those who don’t have the decency to clean up after their dogs.

Please remember children play on our beaches, keep it clean.

A note to the council, maybe someone should take a walk down to the beach one Saturday or Sunday with your child or grandchild, see how you like it.

If you insist on allowing dogs to inhabit all of the beach, then provide patrols. It’s disgusting.
