A pub is reducing the prices of a number of drinks as part of a January ‘sale’.

Wetherspoon-owned The Fire Station, in York Road, Whitley Bay, is taking part in the initiative until Sunday, January 17.

The range of drinks in the sale includes a real ale (Sharp’s Doom Bar), a craft beer (Shipyard), one lager (Coors Light), three wines from Coldwater Creek (red, white and rose), one cider (Strongbow Dark Fruit), three vodkas (Smirnoff Red, Zubrowka and Stolichnaya), a soft drink (SanPellegrino), Guinness as well as Lavazza filter coffee and tea.

The sale prices include a pint of Sharp’s Doom Bar at £2.25, a pint of Coors Light at £2.49, a glass of Coldwater Creek wine (175ml glass) at £2.30, a pint of Guinness at £2.75, Stolichnaya (single measure with mixer) at £2.85, SanPellegrino at 79p and a cup of Lavazza filter coffee at 85p.

The Fire Station manager, Mark Legg, said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pub too.

“The range of drinks on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes and I believe that the January Sale will prove popular with our customers.

“As always staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly.”

The pub is also launching Magners Original Cider on draught on Monday, January 4. It will be available at £1.99 a pint.
